What are Greenwave Filters?
Greenwave filters utilize state-of-the-art electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering technology to significantly lower the amount of unusable energy (“dirty electricity”) being carried along the wires in your homes, schools, and businesses. This technology serves as an effective and practical way to target and lower this particular type of EMF pollution. The less “dirty electricity” there is flowing along building wires, the less that will radiate into your environment.
How do the Greenwave Filters work?
These filters plug directly into existing electrical outlets and even power strips. They work by “shorting out” (shunting) erratic surges and spikes of electrical energy (“dirty electricity”) while allowing standard 50/60-Hertz AC electricity to pass through unimpeded. In other words, Greenwave Filters get rid of the electricity that is not supposed to be there and leaves the electricity that we want.
What is Dirty Electricity or Microsurge Electrical Pollution?
Dirty electricity, more formally known as Microsurge Electrical Pollution (MEP), is any electricity that is carried along wires which differs from the standard AC electricity that is intended to be there. The dirty electricity found in your home and other buildings originates from two primary sources:
- By way of the electric grid. Power lines act like giant antennas absorbing stray electricity from many other sources such as radio and cell phones towers. Electrical power travelling across long distances must be stepped down, which means that it must be reduced from a high voltage to a lower voltage. This is done via high-frequency transients, creating dirty electricity at each occurrence, adding to the power grid. It is transported alongside the standard AC electricity into your home or building.
- By way of any electrical device that is plugged in. All modern electronics, appliances and lights –and anything else you might plug in—creates its own dirty electricity (MEP). These devices do not all run off the same forms of electricity and must convert the standard AC Electricity into whatever form it is they need to work. This conversion process interrupts the smooth flow of standard AC electricity and creates dirty electricity (MEP) which spreads throughout the building and even to other neighboring buildings.

Can we block these man-made EMF’s?
Blocking EMF’s is basically impossible in today’s sea of man-made EMF’s which is why The EMF Project recommends lowering your exposure through practical means whenever possible. How many Greenwave Filters are required?
For optimum results, you will likely need two or more per room, especially in high traffic areas and where you sleep. This will really depend on how much dirty electricity you are dealing with on individual circuits. This can be different from room to room. The more electrical devices you have plugged in the worse it can be. Some devices still draw power creating dirty electricity (MEP) even when they are off. You can test the MEP in your home with a Meter both before and after plugging in to see the difference. Greenwave Filters are not 100% so unplugging electronics when not in use is recommended.

Greenwave filters are ‘passive.’ Installing them should not increase actual electrical consumption in your environment.
